I hired Jack for a difficult employment separation that had a lot of moving parts. There were real stakes on the personal side and the professional side, and I needed someone who could handle both without losing sight of either. Jack did exactly that. From the first conversation, he wanted to understand what I actually wanted out of this. Not just the money piece, but where I wanted to end up professionally, what I was and wasn't willing to do to get there, and where my hard lines were. He walked me through the pros and cons of every path honestly, including options that would have been more work for him and options that would have been less. He never pushed me toward a fight for the sake of a fight, and he never pushed me toward closing early just to move on. The industry I work in is niche and has its own rules, structures, and dynamics. Jack didn't come in pretending to know it. He asked questions, learned quickly, and was willing to do the homework to understand how things actually worked. That effort made a real difference in the strategy, because a lot of the leverage points in this kind of matter aren't obvious from the outside. His approach with the other side was cooperative and professional, which kept things moving and helped protect my and my prior employee's relationships. When they tested that with pressure tactics, a compressed deadline, and a last-minute attempt to slip in language I couldn't accept, Jack shifted gears cleanly and pushed back hard where it was warranted. Second, he committed to seeing it through. After the main agreement was done, he stayed engaged to work through the remaining pieces until everything was fully closed. That kind of follow through is rare. Communication was straightforward the whole way. He explained things in plain language, gave me honest probability assessments instead of telling me what I wanted to hear, and made sure I understood the tradeoffs before any decision got made. He treated me like a partner in the strategy rather than just a client to be managed. If you need an employment attorney for something serious, especially something with unusual dynamics or where reputation matters as much as money, Jack is who you want.
